Andrew Watt LLB, BEc, MA (Creative Enterprise) is a vastly experienced music industry lawyer and professional.

In a career spanning over 30 years Andrew has been a solicitor specializing in music, intellectual property, commercial law and related matters at prominent small, medium and national law firms. With clients ranging from internationally famous artists, globally respected managers, record labels and publishers through to emerging, “next generation” stars on the stage and behind the scenes, Andrew has deep experience and knowledge and commands respect from those he deals with.

Andrew also is experienced as an industry professional in his own right – having been a manager of artists signed to international recording and publishing contracts, a tour manager and a publishing executive (at one time administering the Rolling Stones catalogue in Australia!).

Andrew lectures in the legal aspects of the music and entertainment industry at respected institutions such as Collarts, Melbourne University and RMIT and has created his own on-line music industry course. He is the author of the authoritative music business book – Welcome To The Jungle – Navigating the Music Business in Australia, now in its fourth edition.

Andrew also operates specialist trade mark registration and consultancy Trade Mark Action.
